Boxing & Mental Health

A free monthly session where teen boys build strength inside and out — boxing fundamentals paired with real conversations on mental health.

Time & Location

Sep 05, 2026, 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM

Chicago Body Shop, 2047 E 79th St, Chicago, IL 60649, USA

About the event

Train your body. Train your mind.

Teen Talk is TMH MANCAVE's monthly program for young men ages 12–17 — a space where boxing and mental health sit in the same room, on purpose.

Over two hours, participants work with certified coaches on boxing fundamentals, then sit down with mental health professionals for honest conversation. No lectures. No judgment. Just real talk with men who've been there.

What your teen will do:

Box. Stance, footwork, jab, guard — real fundamentals taught by experienced coaches.

Talk. Facilitated conversations on resilience, self-care, identity, and handling pressure.

Build. Practical coping skills they can carry into school, home, and the block.

Why it matters

Young Black men are often taught to absorb everything and say nothing. Teen Talk flips that. We use the discipline of the ring to open a door to the harder conversation — and we make sure they walk out with tools, not just tired arms.
